Round screen printing: the perfect printing technique for curved objects

Whether it’s napkin rings, glass carafes or ballpoint pens – only an appealing print makes these objects unmistakable. However, this task cannot be accomplished with conventional planographic printing techniques. This is where screen printing is used, which has numerous advantages over other printing methods. It is not for nothing that it is used in almost all industrial and commercial areas. Screen printing can be used to print anything that absorbs ink. The round screen printing technique is a special screen printing variant, another is pad printing. In contrast to planographic printing, the object to be printed is moved while the printer or machine pushes the ink through the screen from above. Rotation and printing take place simultaneously. This makes it possible to print on an object up to 360°. One example is bottles printed on the front and back. Digital UV printing methods also belong to the round screen print category, but are used less frequently. Depending on the design, colour, number and size, the printer selects the process that is best suited for printing on the respective surface. Cylindrical, slightly conical and flat articles are typical for the round screen printing process.

At D & S DRUCKTECHNIK, we can print a wide variety of shaped bodies by means of round screen printing. Not only conical and round, but also irregularly shaped bodies can be printed with this flexible technique without any problems. We have a large machine park with multicoloured screen printing machines and can design individual printed matter convincingly according to your ideas. We have all common colour systems such as CMYK, Pantone, HKS or RAL at our disposal to give metals, plastics, leather, wood or glass an advertising face.
